How Is Vitality Matcha Different from Other Matcha Brands?
Tea Farmers' Dedication to Organic Farming
Vitality Matcha is Certified JAS Organic, which means the entire cultivation, harvesting, and processing of the tea is held to the highest standards.
Less than 1% of Japanese Tea is organic.
To ensure that no chemicals seep into the tea, the tea farmers only grow Vitality Matcha on lands that are free from chemical for at least 5 years.
To be sure the tea farms are free from chemicals, we created a buffer zone to separate the organic farm from other non-organic farms.
100% Hand-picked from the First Harvest
When it comes to Vitality Matcha, every leaf is harvested by hand, not machines.
That is because the machines can't inspect every tea leaf carefully that the quality of each tea leaf is high.
What’s more, our matcha green tea is made of only the topmost 2 to 3 leaves from the first harvest (May) tea plants.
The first harvest is regardedas the best harvest of the year with a high amount of L-theanine, contributing to the sweet "umami" taste it has.
Stone Ground to a Smooth Taste and Texture
Grinding is an important part of the matcha making process. We only use one of the traditional methods, stone grinding, which ensures fresh tea leaves are blended finely for an aromatic and smooth tea one can enjoy in a cup of matcha.
